Apprenticeships Journey

1. Research apprenticeships in your area
One way to find the best apprenticeship for you is to research what career paths are available in the industry you would like to work in, as having an idea of your long-term career goals can help you decide the right apprenticeship for you.
2. Complete and Submit Your Application
Much like any other job application, apprenticeships require applicants to submit a CV and cover letter. Employers may also request additional documentation to ensure you meet both their own and their partner training provider's requirements, like: CV, Cover Letter, Certificate, etc.
3. Attend an interview
This is an excellent opportunity to tell employers more about why you would be a great candidate for the position and is also a chance to find out more about the apprenticeship. Interview formats can vary but you'll usually know ahead of time who you'll be meeting.
4. On-Boarding for Apprenticship
Now the apprentice is on the road to a prosperous career. Throughout the apprentic`eship the individual will learn hands-on skills as well as technical skills at an appropriate post secondary institution.

Employer Levy
& Contributions

Apprenticeships are an exciting option – you get hands-on training and also the chance to put your skills into practice. So in practice that means no levy is payable until the pay bill exceeds £3m. The levy applies to all public and private sector organisations including charities and education providers.

The levy is collected monthly by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) through Pay as You Earn (PAYE), alongside tax and National Insurance. These monies are then held in a Digital Apprenticeship Service (DAS) account.

Employers in England who pay the levy will be able to get out more than they pay in, as the government will contribute a 10% top-up to the monthly payment into their digital account.

Once set up, an employer can then contract with training providers on the Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers. Employers then link apprenticeships and apprentices to a provider and approve the agreed price for the delivery of the apprenticeship programme.
