What will I learn?

Gain an in-depth understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, including the CIA Triad (Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability) and IAAA principles (Identity, Authentication, Authorization, and Audit). Explore the importance of cybersecurity in organizational and societal contexts and its role in maintaining trust and privacy.

Dive into the design and implementation of secure digital systems. Learn about networking models, protocols, cryptography, and security controls. Gain hands-on experience in building and testing networks while ensuring they meet security objectives and mitigate vulnerabilities.

Understand the lifecycle of threat intelligence, including identifying, analyzing, and mitigating cyber threats. Learn to assess and document risks, apply effective risk management methodologies, and develop treatment strategies to protect digital ecosystems.

Explore the legal frameworks, standards, and management practices critical to effective cybersecurity governance. Study key legislation such as GDPR and the Computer Misuse Act, and understand how to align organizational policies with regulatory compliance.

Master the principles of managing cybersecurity operations within an organization. Develop skills to analyze employer and end-user security requirements, create comprehensive security cases, and apply incident response strategies, including digital forensics, to address and resolve security breaches.

  • Up to 16 weeks (full time is Mon to Wed , or part-time in evenings)
  • On-line – delivered by live tutor facilitated sessions

Eligibility criteria for fully funded training

  • Aged 19+
  • Unemployed, Employed, and Self employed
  • Based in the West Midlands and Cheshire/Warrington
